Final Changes
My opening scene went through many inevitable changes during production...
1. Script/Narrative:
The story went through minor changes while shooting, as my original script was too long to fit within 2-3 minutes, or else I'd end up with a 5 minute opening scene. I removed some of the extra unnecessary scenes but shot extra footage just incase.
also while editing, I added a little clip of Alden's unusually red eyes opening at the very end, which brought up a whole new level of enigma in the film.
2. Podcast Narration:
The screenplay had a long narration of the podcaster, where he explains the context of the opening scene, but due to lack of time I had to reduce the dialogue to a considerable level and tried to reveal more in few words. Audible information must be clear to the audience, and also, a long narration would've bored some people too.
3.Aesthetic:
The initially intended misty aesthetic of the film was lost as the weather changed from the usual, and it began to drizzle. I even tried adding a blurry mist through some editing apps but that didn't really work out. I was still satisfied with the final film, because even without the mist, it didn't fail to look visually well.
