Audience Research based on Genre

 My opening scene is targeting a specific group of audience...

The horror genre is among the most popular in cinema today, and it stands out among other genres as being the most triggering and sensitive. My film aims to satisfy an audience that is suitable to enjoy such content. 

Horror genre films are usually praised by young teens to young adults. Such films tend to attract this age group as this age group is one of the most active and lively and often enjoy  films that will "move" them. That is why this genre can intertwine with thrillers, hence welcoming them into an experience of a world that isn't their own.

Roughly 42% of horror audiences are women, with 58% being men. The age group with most horror fans is ages 15 - 25. suspense and uncertainty really makes a story interesting, and since this genre has an advantage to that, it will satisfy this mass audience with what it has to offer. 

I personally was always a horror fan, and enjoyed what others found disturbing, so I thought this film may be suitable for other people like me.
