Making the Face of BAPHOMET

My antagonist will be making an appearance, not as a human, but a demonic phantom!

I had to build the costume for it, because that will truly bring out the "VILLAIN"

My sketch of BAPHOMET is a tall figure in a black robe with the irregular skull of a ram for a head. I already own a long black robe, but for the skull, I'll be crafting it myself.

I started by asking my little brother if he didn't need his old iron man mask, since it was perfect to build on to, because my actor will be wearing the skull. So now that I had the iron man mask for myself, I commenced!

Stuff I used :

toy Iron Man mask               glue, tape and Steel wire

Aluminum Foil

Process:

1. I started by using the steel wire to make an armature of the horns and the elongated skull. The mask already had the required cheek shape. The I covered the whole shape of the skull with with foil, so that I can catch the basic shape of the skull. Since It's intended to look irregular, I didn't tire myself too much on the proportions.

2. Then I taped the necessary parts to tighten and form the shape, plus I made the markings for the eyes and nose shapes. I left the horns for later since they are a tough part! I kept adding foil to thicken the form and get the intended shape.

3. I used two Styrofoam cups to hold the horns in place, and then wrapped aluminum foil around them. I proceeded with this process till the very ends of the horns, and made them thinner and pointy as they went up to the points. Then rolled two ling strips of aluminum foil like onion rings, to form the eyes, and glued them to the mask. I used tape to hold everything in place, and continued around the whole thing, until I had a solid shape.

4. After covering it all up, I had completed the formation process, and all that was left were adding details for realism. I ended up posing the horns similar to Maleficent's horns, as i loved her menacing appearance, and it suites my character well!

5. Added white spray-paint patches overall so that it can reflect light more well and easy. Will add details with acrylic paint as the final step.

6. Finally, I defined its shape and added blood stains, using red and black paint, and created a more decayed skull-like effect. Some final touches and I had my Baphomet mask ready!
